Two dev blogs within like a month? I know, we're spoiling you...

Today I'm going to be talking about donations. It isn't the most thrilling of discussions, especially when you're low on funds and really, really want that object saving.

But I might have a new way?

The idea is to stop offering donation rewards entirely.

Instead, anybody who wants to support the server and can afford it would be able to offer a small recurring amount.

Server operating costs are only around €120/m, so with 10 people each donating €10/month, or with 20 donating €5/m, we'd be covering all our costs.

The question with this is basically, what happens to those missing donation rewards?

Instead of donating, let's get everybody to vote instead! As far as voting reward costing goes, we're working on a document outlining what the rewards will be and how much they will cost. It'll be revealed when it's ready, of course.

The question with this is basically, what happens to donation rewards?

Well, we scrap them. Much gratitude to anybody who is going to commit to a few dollars a month, maybe a forum title, potentially an in-game one, but the idea is that they're contributing a small amount simply because they want to help support the server, to which we will be so thankful for and probably give them first dibs on patch requests.
